New Hairstyle

In case you are wondering who this kid is in the pictures. It is Stephen. 4th grade was the last time we saw his hair this short. He cut off all his curls for now. But as he said, "they will grow back." He did not give any specific reasons why he cut his hair, but he did say he thought he could sleep longer in morning because he didn't have as much hair to wash.

Marathon Runners.............................

We have reached the point where we only have one runner in the Nashville Music City Kid Marathon. No, we are not allowing Caroline to run 26 miles at one time. But over the last 6 weeks she has ran 25 and she will run the last 1.3 miles tomorrow night in downtown Nashville. We do have a 16 year old who is signed up for the half marathon and plans on running 13 miles Saturday morning. I never had that much energy or drive as a 16 year old.
Above is all the 5th graders at PCA who are running. The marathon benefits Special Kids. each grade has one Special Kid that they are running in honor of.
The 25th mile is ran with celebration at school. They all have PCA marathon T-shirts and have their mile timed. Caroline is the blond in the green shirt! ha. Actually is you look at the lady in the white shirt in the back and go 3 heads to the right, you will see Caroline with her hair pulled back.
At the start, they parents threw confetti!
Caroline and her friend Brook after they "fast" mile run! Needless to say, we are very proud and hope to have pictures of the actually marathon soon.

Soccer is here..............

The Bass family is in full swing of soccer season. We actually are in the middle of it. Stephen and Katie Ann only have three more weeks until thier season ends. Caroline's season started today.
This is Caroline's first year at soccer. She is playing with the city rec league. She has been to so many games, she actually knew what to do. Still needs to work on technique:)
Katie Ann is play with Providence's school team. It is a co-ed team. She is a mid-fielder (which means she is suppose to "feed" the ball to the players who can hit it in the goal) She is having a fun time.
Stephen is playing on his high school team. He and most all the other freshman are on Junior Varsity but he is loving it. His team has not allowed a goal yet. He plays forward. It has been fun watching but after the game, he rides the bus home. That is different for us. He has the soccer hair style but we are getting it cut this week.

Art Institure or Macy's: You guess

Two extremes in Chicago. There are two original Monet's and then there is Spring decorations in a 6 story Macy Department store. Both were quite amazing!!!

2nd week of Spring Break

The girls and Michele were on 2nd week of spring break while the boys had to go to school until Thursday. Michele took a trip to Chicago and saw the Art Institute. Spending 3 hours alone at the art institute and no one to tell me they were ready to go was nice. I also saw "Wicked" the play and it was excellent. The amazing thing was I walked up to the box office an hour and a half before the play and got to sit on row 8.
Finally a day we were all out of school. Above are boys play ball at the park. Jason and Stephen are at the right of the pciture defending each other. Below is Katie Ann at the park. It was a sunny but windy day.
We only have one picture of dying eggs because the batteries went out of the camera. Below is Jason dying his eggs at the end of the week. Notice he has on a sweat shirt. Easter day was chilly also.

Spring Break Week #1

Spring break for the girls started out with snow. Here is Jason and Zac after playing football in the snow.
All four Bass kids babysat these three boys while David and Michele went on a double date with our youth pastor and his wife. I don't know if they are watching a video or if Stephen and Katie Ann are entertaining?
Michele and the girls went to Bowling Green Kentucky to visit the Games family. Katie Ann and her friend Ann Lundy (above) got to visit while Caroline and Van (below) got to visit. It was a short visit but we enjoyed the 24 hours or catching up.
On spring break, we went shopping and these are the shoes that Katie Ann bought with her own money. She was very excited about them and thought they deserved a picture.

No more snowman days

When my kids were little and there was snow, a snowman was always made. Now that they are older their snow activities include: football at night because they are afraid the snow will be gone in the morning, finding a hill to sled down and a snow ball fight. You have to get up early in the South because by 1:00 in the afternoon, the snow is only in spots.
Stephen said this snow was the best for snow balls.
Jason in action. Cars are the best for gathering snow.
Caroline and her cousin Zac trying to defend themselves. If you notice Katie Ann is not in any pictures. She said it was too cold!
