Spring in the South

Spring is here in Tennessee and I just spent a few days in Alabama and the azaleas and dogwood trees were in full bloom. I love the color even though it does not last long. In Tennessee, the color is close.

Half of March is gone!!

Oh my, I really did think I was going to do a better job of recording the Bass family history, but here is is in the middle of March. And I can't even remember what we have done. But one memory is I attended a ladies retreat and felt like I was going down memory lane. The speaker's daughter was one of the babysitters that helped David and I survive raising 4 small children. And there she was with her #2 and was such a pro.
The retreat was at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain Georgia. We took the kids over to Calloway many times and the Butterfly Center is still there. It seems so much smaller now. Maybe because 4 small children could get lost in there. But it made me smile and I loved seeing the butterflies.
At the retreat, I was able to see three women we had gone to church with in our later years at Auburn. It has been 10 years but it was great fun to have moments to see them in the flesh. Lindy was the speaker and as I knew it would be, very appropriate for where I am in life! What a sweet blessing.
